IKEA's New "SEKTION" Kitchen Range Offers More Customization Options to Create the Dream Kitchen

New Features Such as Increased Modularity and Integrated Lighting Allow Homeowners to Create Individualized Kitchen Solutions

IKEA launched the SEKTION, a new, versatile kitchen system. The new modular kitchen, which replaced the current kitchen system AKURUM, enables customers to create truly customizable solutions, regardless of the size and shape of their kitchen space. SEKTION offers new features such as more modularity, integrated lighting, inside drawer organization, and "drawers within drawers," giving homeowners options to create a beautiful, quality kitchen at a great price.

In developing SEKTION, IKEA did extensive research into what the kitchen means to people today, discovering that functionality and ease of use are top-of-mind for customers. "At IKEA, we understand that people want to create a home that is comfortable, safe and welcoming for their friends and families," says Kathleen Wilber, IKEA US Sales Leader for Kitchens. "For the new SEKTION kitchen, this meant creating a collection that that is beautiful, easy to use, and works for all of life's everyday activities, from cooking and eating to socializing and doing homework."

Features of the new SEKTION kitchen system include:

  • A modular design that is easier to install, more functional and gives you almost endless possibilities when creating your kitchen.
  • Drawers within drawers that give you extra storage while maintaining a sleek, modern look.
  • New interior organizers to help squeeze the most out of every square inch of drawer and cabinet space and create a kitchen where things are accessible and easy to find.
  • Integrated LED lighting with features such as corner modules, electrical and USB outlets, remote control dimming and in-drawer lighting.

SEKTION also retains the best features of the current IKEA kitchens, such as soft close drawers and doors, a wall mounted rail system for easy installation, and a 25-year limited warranty. SEKTION is not compatible with the AKURUM system.

SEKTION is available in a range of colors and styles from traditional to modern and everywhere in between. Customers can use the online IKEA Kitchen Planner to plan their own SEKTION kitchen. In addition to the online tools, IKEA offers a full range of services in-store, from planning and measuring to ordering and installing.

BEHR 2015 Color and Style Trends

Behr Paints Introduces 2015 Color Trends Featuring Four Eye-Catching Themes and 20 Captivating Hues

-Vibrant Collection Highlights Top Trends to Inspire DIYers to Create Their Dream Home-

2015 Color and Style Trends of Behr Paints have 20 all-new exclusive paint colors and four inspirational design styles. Influenced by the pleasure and emotion color evokes, Behr empowers its consumers to create rooms that are balanced, stylish and inviting. By providing an extensive range of captivating color palettes, Behr's new trends offer creative inspiration to help consumers coordinate different colors and tones to maximize the level of energy they wish to convey in each living space. Wall colors can be dramatic or ethereal, energetic or relaxed. These wall colors can be beautifully complemented by colors in furnishings, textiles and décor objects for harmonious results.

"Color itself is like one of the senses, enhancing our world and our state of mind," said Erika Woelfel, Director of Color Marketing for Behr Paints. "Behr's 2015 Color Trends will help consumers pick the right color for their projects while providing a glimpse of how rooms appear in different tones."

Using this inspiration, Behr Paints has identified four on-trend themes with 20 all-new paint colors:

Deep Dreams
An invitation to a tranquil escape into a dreamy, mythical landscape, Deep Dreams features serene colors like teal, charcoal and eggplant that offer an oasis of relaxation in a bedroom. Balance is created with white trim, gold metallic and pops of citron yellow in the décor accessories. Lush layers of patterned textiles invite fuchsia, bright green, and purple into the mix.
Corresponding BEHR Paint Colors include:

Liaison T15-1
Seared Gray T15-2
Essential Teal T15-3
Your Majesty T15-4
Heritage Oak T15-5

Frosted Pastels
An open look at how pastels create stimulating environments when combined with zesty bright accents, the contrast of pastel and striking accent is balanced by touches of mauve and black found on floor stencils, fireplace tile and window treatments.

Corresponding BEHR Paint Colors include:

Dreamscape Gray T15-6
Secret Blush T15-7
Elusive Blue T15-8
Dandelion Tea T15-9

Social Brights
A refined balance of brights and neutrals, lighter and darker colors, Social Brights features pure blue, red, purple and orange that feel energetic, draw attention and create a lively place for conversation. Shades of gray are the perfect balance on adjoining walls, trim or ceiling. Other intense hues make playful accompaniments in small decorative accessories for tabletop and shelving displays.
Corresponding BEHR Paint Colors include:

Clarified Orange T15-10
Sonic Blue T15-11
Graphic Grape T15-12
Prime Purple T15-13
Super Hero T15-14
Plastic Lime T15-15

Nuanced Neutrals
A spotlight on weathered, rustic colors, the hallmark of today's mid-range neutral palette, Nuanced Neutrals features dusty aqua paneling and light tan walls, the casual companions of charcoal, lively copper and citrus orange accents.
Corresponding BEHR Paint Colors include:

Blue Clay T15-16
Mocha Foam T15-17
Snap Pea Green T15-18
Mulberry Wine T15-19
Peach Preserve T15-20

From the sweet charm of pastels, to the comfortable ambience of neutral tones, to the dare and majesty of deep and bright tones, Behr Paints has pulled together trends to capture the balance needed to create inviting, inspiring and dramatically transformed rooms. First, to keep pastel rooms from feeling overly sweet, a pop of bright color and dark accents add dimension and create an airy, feminine appeal. Touches of dusty earth tones ensure neutral rooms create a marriage of function and comfort. For deep and hued rooms, layers of color and texture in furniture, window treatments and other accessories add volume and interest, and rich patterns in textiles allow accent colors to shine. Finally, brights are used sparingly and balanced with lighter or darker colors to create a refined yet lively look.

Each original trend is showcased with a room image that embodies the theme, and includes a selection of diverse in-vogue colors. The Behr 2015 Color Trends brochure can be found in stores and includes detailed décor themes plus design and decorating tips to help consumers visualize each space. To further the visual experience, consumers can follow a QR code found on the back of the Trend Card brochure or watch a video online that brings the themes to life.

Additionally, explore, preview and purchase the 2015 Color Trends and select the project type, size, brand, and sheen on the ColorSmart by BEHR Digital Paint Store. This all-new tool allows consumers to purchase paint orders for delivery to their home.

The ColorSmart by BEHR Mobile application, available as a free download for iPhone®, iPad® and Android compatible devices, helps users find the perfect BEHR Paint Color at the touch of a finger. HGTV Dream Home 2013 Giveaway House Certified for Environmentally-Sound Construction

Earns Platinum LEED Certification from U.S. Green Building Council

[New York],
December 12, 2012 - In HGTV's ongoing commitment to responsible home development and eco-friendly building solutions, the HGTV Dream Home 2013 has achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

The custom-built, 3000 square-foot home, located alongside the tranquil tidal marshland and near pristine beaches in Indigo Park, is part of Kiawah Island, S.C.'s first sustainable neighborhood. Constructed with all eco-friendly alternatives, the HGTV Dream Home 2013 has the highest level of technology with the construction materials, building practices, clean indoor air-quality, energy efficiency, water consumption and geothermal heating and cooling.

According to HGTV professional home planner Jack Thommason, "Utilizing a comprehensive whole house approach, the design team was able to create a home qualifying as environmentally sound from top to bottom. The materials, components, and building techniques work together to form a complete system that is greater than the sum of its individual parts. To pursue and earn this first platinum level certification really speaks to the extra efforts our team took in building the most 'green' home possible."

LEED-certified buildings incorporate the latest green-building design and technology. These homes are designed to lower operating costs and increase asset value, reduce landfill waste, conserve energy and water, be healthier and safe for homeowners, and reduce harmful emissions.

"Our entire design/construction team had the goal of achieving Platinum LEED certification from the onset," said HGTV Dream Home's builder Craig Gentilin. "From the roof systems that create a water and air tight envelope to eliminate air infiltration; the super-efficient insulation materials; the geo-thermal HVAC system that utilizes the constant temperature of the earth for heating/cooling; keeping all duct work inside the insulated envelope to increase efficiencies; all the way to the LED lighting and Energy Star rated appliances, environmental aspects came into the play from the very beginning of construction. Everything partners together to create the greenest Dream Home ever."

The HGTV Dream Home 2013 Giveaway opens for entries on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at 9 a.m. Eastern time and runs through Feb. 15, 2013 at 5 p.m. Eastern. The fabulous HGTV Dream Home 2013 will make dreams come true for one winner, who'll claim a grand prize package that includes the home, a 2013 GMC© Acadia© Denali© and $500,000.

During the giveaway period, viewers can enter twice online per day: once at HGTV.com and once at FrontDoor.com. HGTV Facebook and Twitter fans can elect to receive ongoing updates and new details.

Voluptuous coffee flavour and gorgeous design are a barista-beating duo in new bean-to-cup coffee centres from Siemens.

[New York], August 14, 2012 -
The fully-automatic machines - the EQ5 Macchiato (TE503201RW) and EQ5 Macchiato Plus (TE506209RW) - are beautiful on the outside, and marvels of engineering on the inside.

Both models have a 1.7litre water, 300g bean hopper and 15 bar pressure, plus an impressive range of features including adjustable coffee strength and double-shot setting; grind-setting, nozzle-height and drink-size adjustment; a two-cup function, and they will even make a perfect brew from ready-ground coffee rather than beans. The Macchiato Plus offers an extra one touch setting for perfect latte or cappuccino style.

Both models use Siemens' unique Aroma Pressure system, which has a specially-shaped tamper to ensure consistent compression of the ground coffee and perfectly reproducible flavour with every cup. Water is forced through this at 15 times atmospheric pressure - enough to produce a cup within 30 seconds. Siemens' special Senso-Flow heating element keeps the water at the ideal temperature during the brewing process, for great taste without over-brewing.

Siemens EQ5 Macchiato Plus (TE506209RW

The EQ5 Macchiato - in super-cool silver - has a graphical display for easy use, digital controls, a timer, an independent milk system with a separate nozzle, a removable drip tray with a mechanical sensor to warn when it is full (the Plus model has an electric sensor), as well as cleaning and de-scaling programmes, including a separate milk-cleaning programme. The EQ5 Macchiato Plus - in a gorgeous, deep-lacquered piano black - offers all these facilities, plus lighting.

"Beyond well-crafted products for those who love to cook, KitchenAid is committed to offering consumers new ways to accent their kitchens and express their personalities," says Beth Robinson, senior manager of brand experience for KitchenAid. Porsche Design Kitchen for the Ritz in Paris

Poggenpohl and Porsche Design Extend Cooperation and Plan New Kitchen

**BEST ARCHIVE NEWS**[Stuttgart/Herford], June 14, 2010 - The premium kitchen manufacturer Poggenpohl and the luxury brand Porsche Design have extended their licence partnership until 2014.

The licence agreement between the two premium brands exists since 2005, when the two companies developed and launched their first successful luxury kitchen - the P'7340. Both companies have also agreed upon an option to develop and produce a new model with a lower starting price than the present P'7340 luxury model.

Elmar Duffner, Managing Director of Poggenpohl Möbelwerke GmbH is extremely satisfied with the extension of the licence agreement and says: "The brand cooperation arrangement between Porsche Design and Poggenpohl is a success story. I am very much looking forward to continue our mutual work".

"The Porsche Design luxury kitchen matches perfectly our product range and with Poggenpohl we have found the ideal partner", says Dr Juergen Gessler, CEO of the Porsche Design Group. "With its purist design, the P'7340 contributes to the integrity of the brand's typical clean and sleek look. Nowadays the kitchen increasingly becomes an important venue in a household. Our luxury model is the ideal kitchen not only for those who love cooking but also for people with high tech affinity."

Today Porsche Design kitchens from Poggenpohl can be found in exclusive private households and apartment complexes all over the world. Whether in Dubai, Bangalore, Florida, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Lisbon, Moscow, Paris or Zurich - wherever deep-pocketed customers and apartment complex investors attach importance to exquisite quality and exclusivity, the P'7340 is the number one choice.

The latest example is the legendary Ritz Hotel in Paris. Managers of the luxury establishment ordered a black Porsche Design kitchen to be integrated into the hotel's most expensive suite. The "Imperial" measures an area of 200 square metres with two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom (approx. costs per night: €10,000). Regular guests of the luxury suite include for example members of European and Arab royal families. Before the Porsche Design kitchen was fitted, the luxury suite was lavishly renovated, forgoing an extra bedroom in favour of the kitchen.

Another order for a Porsche Design kitchen comes from the Portuguese capital Lisbon. This is where an exclusive apartment building is being constructed in the famous Chiado quarter. Poggenpohl is delivering seven Porsche Design P'7340 luxury models for this project. Around the world, kitchens of the Porsche Design luxury brand are meanwhile sold at some 90 selected dealers and the company's own exclusive Poggenpohl studios.

About Poggenpohl
Poggenpohl was established in 1892 and is today the world's most famous kitchen brand. The company employs 550 members of staff worldwide and exports its exclusive kitchens to over 70 countries across the globe. All products are developed and manufactured without exception at the company's operation in Herford, Westphalia. Since 2000, Poggenpohl Möbelwerke GmbH has been part of Sweden's Nobia Group, Europe's largest manufacturer of kitchens.
